We are excited for our upcoming (Fall 2025) issue of Hairstreak Butterfly Review dedicated solely to the creative work of Colorado College alums.
Theme issue: Places and Spaces
What makes a place or space your own? How do you leave one and what does it mean to return to another? We are looking for stories, poems, essays, etc. that reflect on the places and spaces you have, wish to and do inhabit. We invite all styles, genres, and approaches to writing and look forward to reading your work.
Deadline for submissions: May 31st, 2025

Word/page limits:
Poems: 1-4 poems
Short Prose (up to 850 words each): Submit 1-3 short or flash pieces (fiction and/or cnf)
Longer Prose: One story or essay or academic essay (up to 2,000 words)
Hybrid or Mixed Media Works: Please contact npulley@coloradocollege.edu
Original and Reprinted Work: We will accept previously published works that are not currently online. Please review your contracts for works currently in print to verify permission to publish a reprint.
Publication: We are not offering honorariums for work published at this time.
